Haus of Handmade is a Delhi-based women's fashion brand built around one principle: clothes made with genuine craft, in limited quantities, that last. The brand was started by Mita Jindal at 45 — not as a fashion business calculation, but out of a need to create something real for women whose bodies and lives weren't being served by mass-market fashion.
What the brand makes
Haus of Handmade makes formal shirts, co-ord sets, cape tops, dresses and workwear for women. The fabrics are cotton poplin, schiffli, gingham and linen. The embellishment is hand-applied: sequins placed individually, lace positioned by an artisan, appliqué cut and stitched by hand. Every design is made in a single batch — when it sells, it's retired.
Who it's for
The brand is for women who want to wear something well-made, who understand that a piece made with human craft feels different from mass-produced alternatives, and who would rather own ten considered pieces than fifty disposable ones.
