What to look for in a sequin shirt
Application method: Ask or look for confirmation that sequins are hand-applied. Hand-applied sequins have slight variation in angle and placement — this is a feature, not a defect. Machine-applied sequins are perfectly uniform.
Base fabric: Cotton poplin or cotton blend base allows the shirt to breathe and drape correctly. Synthetic base fabrics trap heat and don't drape the same way.
Weight: A correctly sequined shirt should feel weighted but not heavy. If the sequin density is so high that the fabric stiffens, the shirt will be uncomfortable to wear for more than an hour.
